How do i turn off the auto door lock function? Drives me mental.

Hi so sorry for the vague post here.
More jnformation. It is a vcds code that was put on. I believe the correct name after reading more of this thread is anti hijack. Where the doors lock after a certain speed.

Its frustrating me as i get out the car to open the boot our another door and its locked.

Its certainly not a fault and is vcds. I only have the free version currently if that helps.

Thanks again for all your replies. Sorry for the frustration by being vague.

Cheers

I posted a link to a YouTube video that appeared helpful (on resetting your alarm settings with VCDS), but subsequent discussion here suggests that it doesn't apply to the A2. Apologies

Alas, the instructions shown in this video do not apply to the A2. The feature in question is enabled/disabled using coding, not using adaption channels.

To disable the anti-hijack feature, simply subtract 32 from the CCCU's existing coding. So, hypothetically, if your current coding is 06891, enter 06859.

Just remove the ignition key it all unlocks, or press the unlock button on the drivers door.
As @audifan says, the unlock button by the driver's interior door handle will unlock all the doors.

Cheers,

Tom

Take a look at this link. This guided me through the process, using a registered version of VCDS Lite, and the Basecode utility. You'll probably need to add a leading zero to the 4 digits of the new code, as 5 digits are required. VCDS will prompt you, and won't accept 4 digits.

Mac.

I also concur that this can and has been done by me many times with an unregistered version of VCDS and a £5 ebay cable using Tom's method stated above in post #25
