How I rebuilt my A2

Hi Sarge and welcome to the A2 club and what a baptism!!! Incredible. What perseverance you must have. I hope you have many years of enjoyment from 'Shoby Car'.

I once converted a Maxi from LHD to RHD but fortunately the wiring loom came across from the right hand side, so I just looped it back. It took a weekend to do - child's play compared to the magnificent job you have undertaken.

Thank You very much. Maxi eh? must have been time ago. ;) The amounts of wiring in modern day cars is incredible, but, failure wasn't an option.

UPDATE :

Well, I decided to call another guy out to do my immobiliser programming, it took this man a few seconds, and he retrieved the pin from the car with his handheld device.

He then programmed keys to it and ....VALLA.... Shoby Car fired straight up! .... YES folks I am pleased to say that Shoby Car is now running and will be on the road soon.
Will take more pics after it's been washed, taxed & tested.

:)

VIC Certification

Well Ladies & Gentlemen, I took Shoby car for the VIC test today and it passed, have to wait till monday now to get tax as they have to wait for their computers to be updated.

SO, Shoby Car will (hopefully) be buzzing around London on Monday afternoon!! :D

Thanks

Great news fella - nearly time to start enjoying all your hard work!

Thanks ... I have been iching to drive it, damn VOSA procedure's are too long in the tooth.

Mind you I drove it down to the station, (you are allowed to drive it straight to station and straight back without tax, as long it is insured and mot'd) it drove real sweet, the down side was it was only down the road, so never got a satisfying run at it :(

Cheers

Hey Sarge, having seen Shoby car last week, I'm excited for you to finally be able to take it out on the streets!

P.S. Hope you have found a spare wheel as well.

Thanks Humps, Monday should be the finaliser.
I have been offered a cheap spare by a kind fellow A2'er, and will be contacting him to meet up and buy it from him early next week.

Cheers
Sarge

UPDATE: I decided to turn up at the offices of DVLA Borehamwood, and armed with all the papers in hand, I told them in no uncertain terms, that I want my tax, unless they can provide me with what I, deemed an acceptable reason for not doing so, they couldn't, so I got the TAX !...HURRAY !!

I AM driving Shoby Car Today!....:)

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO WROTE TO ME WITH THEIR KIND WORDS OF SUPPORT.

I HOPE THIS THREAD STAYS AROUND AND NOT DISAPPEAR INTO THE FORGOTTEN ARCHIVES....

Amazing story.
You are really a special person, and not many are capable of doing what you just did. Truly touching.

Wow, a really special story. I don't know anyone who would have taken on that amount of work. Well Done, all the best.
