Well I enjoy reading it, now and then, but then I would ...lol ;)

Cheers

That is such a wonderful story. You really put your heart and soul into that car. A lovely tribute to your nephew. As others have said, not many would have the tenacity required.

Well done!

Well done Sarge!

This story shows real grit and determination, not to mention dedication to a cause.

I've read it three times and it never fails to amaze me each time - always worth another read.

By the way, I rate your general comments and how you help out other A2 owners.

Youre famous Sarge pal! This is arguably one of the best threads on this forum IMHO. Think I had a lump in my throat on first read. Well done Mr H!! :D

Thank you very much for your kind comments Lionjag, I do try to, & will endeavor to help where I can. My experiences with car stealerships and garages, have been of the worst kind, therefore I believe in if you want a job done properly, then do it yourself, and I treat people as I'd like to be treated, with utmost courtesy, lifes too short :)

Murdi Pal, I don't know what to say, famous? me? don't think so, just a humble everyday guy that's me Buddy.

Well here's Shoby Car with New shoes on :D

I know some of you will find this hard to believe (Murdi ;)) BUT, as far as ride quality goes, I have found these wheels with these tyres a good combination, and I think that they are unexpectedly comfortable ....HONESTLY

I expected to have my fillings shaken out by now, but I find that the ride is excellant for this big wheels.

Humps, you'll also be surprised :D

Well here's a couple of quick shots of Shoby Car on my phone. Will wash him and take better ones soon. ;)

LOL! Well Sarge, Im a boring old fart and I thought those 18" S8's would have been a bit 'bling' ... but far from lamenting Shoby's demise in good taste - I'll admit he looks very very good - dont believe you about the ride though :p Come and visit us in Scotland for next years cruise and I'll take you on some roads that'll test your boots out! :D

Very nice Sarge - a good buy all round.

They look in very good condition too.

Darren

Thanks Darren, yes they are in good condition with a few little marks but nothing to worry about.

Murdi, now how did I know you were going to say that? :p Honest I assure you that the ride/suspension problem, (well at least for me) is nothing to worry about. I will catch Humps when he's about to test drive for a second opinion. Bear in mind it's also the standard factory suspension, and Humps has upgraded his while running standard SE wheels, I'm sure he's going to be surprised.

Maybe its the make/type of the tyres that make it work?!

Anyway I am going up to Middlesbrough in Shoby Car on Sunday to a wedding, lets see how it goes as it's his first time out on a good motorway run! :D

Wow!!

I've just bought byself an A2. Searched web with some questions and came across this forum, and more specifically this thread.

Shoby looks fantastic! I can't believe the transformation you must be very proud!!

Sarge you have every reason to be exceptionally proud of Shoby car well done:):):)

Do the 18' alloys still work great???

Dave

Thank you James, Welcome to the forum, and thank you Dave. Yes I am very proud of Shoby car, in fact I am glad I started this thread, as it continues to be a great reminder/inspiration every now and then :)

Yep, The wheels work great and do a lot of head turning, as Shoby flys past. :)
