How many of each rare colour....

As in the title.... has anyone ever found out how many of each rare colour cars were imported to the UK....eg White, Yellow, Papaya etc..
I can find some posts as to guesses as to numbers but are there any "official" figures...

Just had a trawl of the internet and found a site carlogbook.co.uk which bases its figures on DVLA mot inspections...…..it does give colour details !!
Obviously if the tester is colour blind there might be some errors but doubt there will be many......…..
Yellow = 63
White = 37
Orange = 9
Red = 702
Green = 555
Lots of the usual colours left, they quote 10,037 cars MOT'd and that represents 0.0354% of all cars on the road in the UK.

Wonder if they class Jaipur Red as red or the orange that it looks like ? Seems possibly a little low if they do, there's a handful of Papayas in that 9.

I was under the impression that the number was the number of white ones that were registered.
This would incl TDIs and petrol.

That's an awful lot of White ones, I wonder how many of them are resprayed/wrapped?
A few of them I should think Jeremy, based on the data of vehicles in 2005 and that the white ones have increased

Hi - possibly in the red list above also as my car is Jaipur red but it’s actually orange to the bystander and people in the street so it’s very difficult to say your car is one of very few on that list it is dependent on the Dvla classification

The "Orange" ones have gone up too :)

Mind you, the above lists are all based on MOT testers reliability - My Corrado was pRuple one year :)

If you are referring to my list they were based on DVLA registration data, but still subject to dealers reliability / not being colour blind. I would hope in 2020 the data comes from the manufacturers using the VIN.

Hi - no nothing personal - my car is registered as red on the logbook even though it is clearly orange due to the Jaiper red Audi information

Well it just seems to me that it's a guessing game simply because of the data that is available on the Internet.
Unless someone can get into the audi register where we can get the official figures it will always be a guesstimate.
As for the figures regarding what's out there at the moment, again it seems it will always be a guess.

Haven't a couple of members cars been colour changed to white?....I know of one car local to me that had a colour change to white, I had a look at it when it was advertised locally but it was a bit of a mess and the paint wasn't very good..
