How to burn CD for 6xCD changer

Does anyone have a suggestion how to burn music to CD so that 6xCD changer will play?
I have tried few times with Maxell CD-R with burning the CD with 4x speed on an old laptop, but still no luck. Of course I have burned it as Audio CD :).
CD changer laser head was cleaned and original CDs are played perfect.

Not sure about the 6 cd boot changer, but my single slot Concert 2 plays my audio cd compilations fine from cd-r discs.

You did finalise the disc when you burnt it? Does it play in other devices?

I tried a CD-R that I knew worked perfectly in lots of CD players and although it was fine for a minute or two it stopped working and would never work again. I had no sound at all on one trip even from the radio after trying to play it. Mine is a Symphony rather than a boot changer. Although these problems may point to other issues, I will be trying original CD’s only this week and fingers crossed there are no more problems. I have a sneaky suspicion the 6 CD changer does not like copied CD’s no matter how well they are burned.

That’s worrying for me - if they would not work, why work for a few minutes. It is an old cd, I really hope I don’t have more serious problems. @mtl - you say you burned it with an old laptop was it windows xp?

Yes, windows xp but with burning software, not in built xp burner.
This combination usually worked on older cd players.

Cd was finalised.

I think it depends on the format of the burnt CD. If it's a copy of the original, there's a good chance it'll work. But if it's ripped, to create mp3 files it probably won't.

Audio cd is not mp3 format so there should be no problem with this. the disc type of cd-r should also be fine and must be finalised.

So provided the burnt disc conforms completely to cd audio format there should be no issue. File name and size restrictions apply to cd audio but to work for a few seconds only implies to me that perhaps the original source has passed through another software program to alter it and possibly add in a DRM to prevent playback. Although in those cases normally the burning software just refuses to make the disc.

Can I ask what software was used and what the original format was for the source music? Windows xp or Windows 11 should make zero difference when it comes to audio cd.

As I have an mp3 aux adapter I made my own usb memory stick containing mp3 music in six folders and that plays just fine. However my single slot in dash player uses my burnt discs as I do not like leaving my original cd's in the car.

There wouldn’t be any difference as long as it’s burnt in CDA format. Just copying the mp3s to the disk of course won’t work. Worth being aware that there are CD players that read mp3 files the Panasonic in the Audi a2 however isn’t one of them

I have used CDRWIN 5 and did create complete Audio CD.
I have searched a little bit around this and it could be that since I have a new CD that supports 52x speed, it does not like being recorded with so low speed. I will try to test it with some other speed.
