So what's the secret to getting this out with no broken clips @A2Steve ?!

Only way to gaurantee no broken clips is to remove the dash. Then from behind you compress the clips and remove the vents. Even then that is assuming someone has not removed a vent previously and damaged the clips.

It’s impossible to remove the vent without damaging the clips. With years of practice I can now remove them with 3 clips staying intact. Before sending the vents I always make sure the clips are glued in place properly regardless because the factory plastic welds are so fragile.
