I am looking for an A2 manual

Hi, I have just been on the Haynes site thinking I would order a manual for my newly aquired A2, to find that as far as I can see they have not got it in print. If this is the case can anyone point me at a suitable site where I might purchase a manual. I am looking for a level of detasil that allows me to follow the more straight-forward repairs and maintenance. Many thanks in advance.

You can find an online manual easily enough:

Navigating it requires a bit of practice, but you get used to it.

Normally you can also view the parts catalogue at 7zap, but it's temporarily down:

You can buy a .pdf version of the workshop manual, slightly easier to navigate than the online version, here:

Thanks for the response Steve, I will make a purchase and I am quite happy with pdf rather than hard copy.

I've found the .pdf version good value at £15 for the download. It's easier to navigate once you separate out the sections that apply to your particular A2. When I'm actually doing any work on the car (which is not very often) I prefer to print off the relevant pages before I start.

Hi Steve, yes I see what you mean about navigate through the sections - there is probably as much detail of the A2 as was written for the Space Shuttle. I am looking forward to taking on the A2 as a project to keep my 80 year old mind working. Thanks for the guidance.

Hi crewetrain,
I’ve just taken delivery of this via amazon
Audi A 2 Baujahre 1998 bis 2002:... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/3716820237?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Not sure if it’s suitable for you & it’s in German
as well.

Keith.

Hi Keith, looking at the pages shows extremely good illustrations but as the text is in German I am afraid it is not for me. I did go ahead and purchase the pdf files for the A2 from easymanuals.co.uk as recommended by Steve_c (see above). This is very detailed and well illustrated and I guess has to be a copy of the dealers workshop manual. Thanks for the info though. Frank.

Hi Frank,

Welcome to the A2OC family.

I'm sure an project A2 will keep your mind and body active.
There's a decent social scene, and an evening meal social on 16th of this month in Brimingham.
Would be good to see you there.

Cheers
Jeff

Hi Jeff, thanks for the welcome, I feel at home already. Not sure about the Birmingham social as I have some care duties which keep me busy but I wish you and your mates all the best for a great night. Frank.

Thanks for this post Crewetrain and the answers from the rest of you guys. Like you CT, I have just bought my first A2 though mine is my daily driver. This weekend I am trying to replace my front wheel bearings (with a puller kit off eBay) and I am beginning to realise that I will need a manual pronto (eg, what on earth is that weird thing where I expected a nut on the end of the driveshaft and how do you replace it?!) Thanks, Steve C I will try those on-line manuals tonight... and I might try that german book if it has good pictures... I will try Google Translate on it :D
