Ibis white slow build thread.

I didn't realise they cast these dual PCD wheels. There are so many holes cast in the centre I'd wonder about the strength in the remaining alloy!

I find them MUCH stronger than the single pitch, the roads around here are pretty broken up and have hit some bad potholes in the rain. Had them fully crack detected and no cracks what so ever.

Thanks for the advice,I had been thinking about 16"s as they seem easier to get hold of.
Does the sport have different suspension set up to the SE? or the same?
Cheers

Sports suspension consists of revised dampers, spring mounts (rear), strut top mounts (front), bump stops, but the springs are common. The 10 mm difference in ride height between the two is achieved by the different spring mounts; the spots ones are thinner, and therefore less compliant. I've just de-sported my suspension and am very happy with the result (being a bit of a softie at heart).
All the details you need are in the Definitive Suspension Parts thread

Good luck,

Mike

Another afternoon of swaps (nothing thats not been done before!)

Swapped over the SE steering wheel to the original Sports wheel.

Swapped the headlight switch for a better replacement.

A cupholder cartridge replaced the broken one.
Slowly but surely its starting to come together.
Next on the list is a OEM CD player and a set of Sports wheels.

I had a cd player from Steve, when I purchased the car but the buttons were worn in places.
I got fed up not being able to listen to something I thought I'd test out concert.
It all lit up when connected but was in safe mode.
Looking on ebay someone was selling codes for £4,so code messaged over today and worked a treat.
My best black colouring pen did the rest!

Who ever said silence is golden didn't drive!!! Button swaps are easy enough to do just got to find the right condition donor without donating one of your organs to pay for it. Any faulty concert 2 can donate its buttons and for the climate, if you want exact colour match you will need another A2 unit, if you do not mind black buttons then the ones fitted to 2000 A4 are ideal. When you do the climate panel it is an ideal oportunity to take the fur ball out of the temp sensing fan behind those 3 horizontal slots at the top of the unit. Generally codes from ebay do work well on the Audi units, had about 6 over the years and all worked first time.

I didn't see anything when the aftermarket unit was out but didn't have an in depth look perhaps that will be a job for another day!,Cheers for the head up

If you look from the rear of the panel at the top you will find a small 1" diameter plastic fan normally with white blades on it. this is what sucks the air through the slots and clogs up. Thought I had a picture but can't find it.

Here is the fan I'm on about, picture does not fully show it but you can see the housing and through the rectangular slot it there was a fur ball any cat would be proud of....

Note not my unit this is a picture of one @sciroccorrado had for sale

Looks like the wheels are just placed in front of the ones on the car. Hence the chocks? Maybe for a quick look see on how they might look on the car after their refurb possibly?
