I'm not coming to the meeting

I'm not coming to the A2 Owners Club meeting, and that makes me sad.

I've thought very long and hard about this and I really wanted to come since this is our first meeting.....

There are a couple of reasons that are forcing me to make this decision...

The first (and the happy one) is that I've proposed my girlfriend and she said yes, so we're getting married in August next year.
And since our new house is finished in april that means that we're going to need al our savings and all the money we can save.

And then there's a small but present chance that I could lose my job the end of januari. I work in the IT for Compaq, and currently we are undergoing a merger with HP. And as a part of that merger people will be fired.

And since it will cost a couple of 100 Euro's to get to England I'm not taking the chance. I've decided not to come.

Anyway, I will be with you in spirit. And I want to ask one of the Dutch member that are going to bring me back a mug !

Dennis, I'm sorry to hear you won't be able to come and fully understand your reasons, I'd be exactly the same if I were in your shoes. So, congratulations on your engagement and new house, and I hope it all works out for you at work (btw am getting my new Compaq laptop tomorrow at work!). I'll keep a mug back for you.

Nah, I already got her before the A2 :) And she is the one that hated it first....but she loves it now, otherwise no marriage...

I pondered on the idea of using the A2 as our car that day, to have the A2 decored with white flowers must surely be a sight for sore eyes. But since it is just a 'regular' car and we drive in it all the time we've decised to rent an oldtimer...

But I might get the A2 to drive behind us and have a picture taken of it with some flowers on....

Gefeliciteerd! Dat gaat een hectisch jaartje worden. Ik hoop dat je kunt blijven werken, dat zal het allemaal een stuk makkelijker maken.

Helaas ga ik ook niet, anders had ik de mok mee kunnen nemen.
