Indicators barely working!!

As per title, my indicators have become sporodic, can here indicator/hazard relay click when activating indicators, sometimes nothing, sometimes a few flashes, sometimes works like normal....
Hazard lights work fine as do parking lights so thinking the relay is the culprit rather than stalk, anyone has similar symptoms???

I would say the indicator unit is failing rapidly. It is a combined indicator and hazard flasher unit and is located behind the stereo. Single DIN easier than double DIN to access the unit but can be a pain to get it out of its retaining clips.
 
Yeah know what you mean, it was loose when i got the car and struggled to get it back fitted correctly but did manage it!
Would you know if its availible in the aftermarket?
 
You may be able to take the unit apart and clean up all the contacts and get longer service from the part or just go for a replacement. New from about £43 on ebay... Not aware of aftermarket alternatives.

My stalk became faulty and would only indicate sporadically despite a definite click when engaging. Some contact cleaner into the stalk base and switches helped for a few weeks but replacing the stalk did the trick.

I felt like a ‘proper’ Audi for a week or so until I arranged to fit some parts from Wales. Only indicating half of the time.

Not a hard replacement. Just need a bit for steering wheel centre removal. I think it was a 12 point.
