To remove the instruments:
Undo the 2 torx screws up under the cowl in front of the clocks. You can then wiggle the hood up and out, but be careful not to break the plastic tabs that extend below the clocks at the bottom front edge.
Then, remove the flexible surround between the clocks and the steering wheel shroud by unhooking the bottom first then pull it forwards.
Finally, remove the 3 torx screws (2 revealed behind the flexible surround and one at the back of the clocks) and you can then remove the instruments all together.
