Intercooler Removal

Hi I need to remove my Intercooler A2 TDI (51) has anybody done this job before it looks a bit busy - does the bumper have to come off.

I have not replaced one myself but in the attached thread its quoted as a 4 hour job (for a professional mechanic) I suspect the bumper needs to come off for access.

It is definitely a bumper off job and you'll need to remove the undertray as well. It's not a 4 hour job, as this quote is based on radiator removal too, which isn't needed in this case.

Mike is quite right that its not 4 hours for someone who knows what to take apart.

Stealth Racing replaced ours for a custom made unit in about 3 hours, the use of a ramp helps considerably when removing the bumper and under tray.

Is your intercooler split

If you haven't already bought a new intercooler Stealth Racing have the option to take your intercooler and have Alloy end caps welded on.
