Also saw this ;)
Misha is a racing driver and has driven a massive variety of cars around the Ring including race cars and members of the public typically 'fettled' cars that they would like to see driven in the hands of an expert to see what they are capable of.
Made me smile seeing this post. But I have to admit the A2 has astounding handling and road manners with a very exploitable chassis (said from the view of a complete amateur). Video to follow I presume.

Someone was faster 😁 I planned to buy cheap 1.4MPI, make it "race car" and bring it to the track days and ultimately the ring 😁

Wheels are too big for this little car. Looks like 17"...
You could be right, but I was looking at the gap, looks much the same all round. 17" might be bigger at the sides than the top.
I think iit looks good, but only because it's so low.
Definitely not speed hump compatible.
Mac.

Originally a base model according to the door handles and mirrors (it was only the UK base spec that didn't have them in unpainted black).
Just what you need if stripping it for weight. Probably with spacers on the wheels, look how far out they sit. I suspect they're 18"s too.

The 1.4 has better weight balance front to rear, so although slower may actually handle better. Combine that with it being 100kg lighter.

Granted though it would have to corner so much better to win a race against an fsi given power difference- 110 vs 75.

A similar idea crossed my mind... 😀

I'm not convinced the FSI power train is 100 kgs heavier than the AUA /BBY version.

Quick search on the web and I see 995 vs. 1070 kg. I still see 75 kg difference ;)
I just can't visualise the reason for that the extra weight.
The cast manifold and fabricated O2 cat up front may be a lot of it.
Mac.
