Interior paint for plastics and leather.

While browsing I have come across this crowd advertising Audi paints ( 4 colours ) Twist, Swing, Platinum and Soul.

I stress that I have not used them but am very interested in trying some on the little trim panel infront of the internal door locking switch.

Wonder if we have to pay the extra €5 shipping for not being in the EU or can we get away with it during this year!?

Andy

I know the answer to this - nothing has changed yet apart from the UK’s voting rights in EU matters, as we haven’t agreed the trading terms for our departure.

Therefore we can continue to trade with the EU as if we are still “in” for the time being.

Interesting! I had paint mixed and put in Aerosols for pimping my FSI interior.
It is to match the blue armrests just fitted. Have sprayed on a leather gearstick gaiter and seems ok, though not yet fitted.
I would be interested in a can of Platinum if anyone else wants to consolidate shipping?

If anyone gets some of this and tries it out, I’d like to see some pictures of before and after, and any thoughts on it.

I’m assuming the use would be on the hard plastic parts on say door cards/centre console. It says leather too but not sure about that one.

I’ll go halves with you Bob. I’ll get a soup black to freshen up a few bits on my FSI. I’m surprised it’s suitable for leather and plastic mind you.

So it says:

1. Remove the component to be painted if required.
2. Wet sand the areas to be painted.
3. Degrease the component/area to be painted using our special leather and plastics cleaner.
4. Apply a thin coat of our primer and allow top dry.
5. Apply the paint evenly and in several layers, allowing each layer to dry (dry to the touch after approx. 5 minutes).
6. Seal the paint by applying a thin coat of our protective lacquer (Topcoat) and allow to dry.

Which means that you can't paint anything textured and you presumably need their special primer and lacquer too. Starting to look expensive.
