is it me or do A2's chomp through headlamp bulbs?

I've lost count of how many headlamp bulbs I've gone through in the last 33 months... has anyone else had the same problems, or have I got some duff wiring.

I don't think it's unique to the A2. Probably more related to cars having problematic design for lamp housing and heat built-up. Add to that the fact that bulb manufacturers need to produce as much light as possible from a bulb and the tolerance for the input voltage (which can vary quite a lot on 'bad' cars) is drastically lowered.

Anyway, my count so far, After 61k km and 1.5 years: factory bulbs gone, replacement 'philips bluevision plus's gone, now running on third pair (standard) bulbs. It's tolerable. I _always_ have my light on, so hardly any of those 61000 km were without them!

3 pairs in 36mths and it's a real pain to change them.
I would not want to do it on the hard shoulder at 2am :=)

Also 3 pairs in 3 years (74000 miles) and I always have the lights on day and night. The new A6 has very nice LED daytime running lights... keeps the interior lights off (not good for the 50 odd bulbs in the car to be on all the time surely!) and it uses less power... now if I can retrofit that...
