Is she choking?

I have raised this in a seperate thread focussing on clutch but wonder if the two are related. Yesterday had an horrendous trip home with stop start traffic a lot of clutch work required. By the time I got home my leg was in bits sooooooo much resistance against me pushing the clutch pedal and getting increasingly difficult to get it to take gear without stalling it! This again leads me to think 2 things relevant to clutch 1 the slave cylinders are duff and the clutch is near end of life (15 years 90000 miles). I'm pointing this out on this thread and this might be contribute to the delay in power follow through ie foot to floor on accelerator revs climb acceleration does not until sudden shoot forward? Still wondering on the turbo and yes I am getting the fuel filter and tuning sorted. Honestly hated the a2 last night.
Hi marcdavidelis,
On my AMF engine the turbo wastegate actuator pivot was virtually seized, whilst doing a head strip down following a timing belt failure.
The pivot is a plain brass/bronze bush & steel pin held by a circlip , cleaned with scotchbrite
pad & lubricated , whilst exhaust was off the turbo casting allowed access for decoke of valve now working as designed with smooth power delivery, new vacuum & air lines fitted to actuators as well ( turbo actuator is air actuated).
Hope this is some helps.
Keith.

.... ie foot to floor on accelerator revs climb acceleration does not until sudden shoot forward?

If it's doing this and the speed is not increasing in line with the revs then the clutch is slipping.
What happens if you drive up an incline in third at say 40mph and then floor it, do the revs rise then the car catches up? If so it's definitely the clutch.

Cheers chaps I've got ridiculous amount on so I'll be sorting this out over the coming months rather than days. Thanks for al your knowledge. All the best.

I appreciate you, as well as us have to cram life into everyday, so yes could take you a while, but please as you check things off can you report back here as this helps everyone help solve this and similar issues.

Will do, when I get a moment I'll go through all the responses on the various threads and correlate it in a to-check/change-list. I will then as I work through it report back as to the outcome in each case. I hope to help others as I have been helped. With a much needed holiday coming up I think it might be at least a month before updating you guys and girls. All the best.
