I am not interested in purchasing myself as it is the unit I already have, but I thought it was plain old A/C

It's the control panel for a digital climate control system. Way overpriced given the wear on the switches. If this is what you are after, wait for a decent one to come up on ebaY.

So I DO have Climate Control then. I thought it was more sophisticated than the A/C I had on my A Class Merc.
