Yes after 13 weeks wait the A3 Sportback 2.0TDi SE DSG is now in my possession and for the 0.6 miles I have driven it I can say it's faultless!!

Looking forward to a comfortable trip to Northumberland in it this weekend.

I'm very envious. When I was stuck in a 3 hour traffic jam on the M42 the other night, inching slowly forward, I would have loved a semi-automatic gearbox.

2004 1.4 TDi (90) SE, Cobalt Blue, Climate control, Cruise control, DIS, Sport seats, Winter pack, Symphony II.

Would be very interested in your thoughts on the box, when you've got used to it. I have a TT with DSG and it's taken a long while for me to come to terms with the differences...

I wouldn't be without it now!

Well a weekend in Northumberland and 650 miles now covered! DSG box is a dream - no problems whatsover in using it, but I have been driving smarts for 4 years which have a similar no clutch pedal box so I'm used to the concept. I have kept it in auto most of the time, but on the twisty bits paddle shifts were preferred as the car tends to get in to 5th and 6th very quickly but switches between the two at around 40 mph and hunts for the correct gear On twistier roads it was in 6th on a few occasions and needed paddle changes to drop down a couple of cogs to enable me to take the bends safely. On the first fill up I calculated it had done about 46 mpg.

Excellent another convert.
After 18 months I am convinced and would not deliberatley choose a manual again!!!!!
I would, of course, not choose a schnoz.
Sorry.

NEVER attempt a battle of wits with an unarmed man.
A2 1.4 SE TDI replaced with A3 2.0TDI DSG, the transmission of the future - today.
