Thanks so much T.
Yes please. That would be lovely. Nibbles on the tables is something I hadn't thought of!
I am going to have a toast to John with bubbles when we get back to the village hall.
I am planning to have wine and soft drinks available from the bar area on a Help Yourself basis.
The buffet will be in the bar area, again for people to help themselves.
There will be tea and coffee available from the kitchen hatch. There are two water boilers plus kettles.
So far 140 friends and family have confirmed. I think it will be nearer 200...
I found out yesterday 3 MG Car Club friends are travelling 700 miles from Cornwall, so that's both ends of the UK and a lot in between.
I knew John was very much loved but now it's confirmed I feel so proud.

Wow that's fabulous. I'll bring a box of wine and some soft drinks to add to the mix XXX

Hi Sheila,
We are coming on Friday afternoon, straight from the airpo. Maybe we'll just come home to switch cars. So no time for any homemade goodies. But we would like to contribute a bit. We can do nibbles and drinks, but is there any gap that we can cover up? Dips? Fresh veg for salads? Please just tell us...

I'm glad that all plans are going well and you expect so many people to gather on a day.

Tam xx

I think you've found the gaps Tam! Nibbles, Salad and dips would be great. The drinks gap is beer, alcoholic and alcohol free, as I have been concentrating on bubbles and wine!! There is so much to do and we go away on Friday to Scotland for 8 nights.
Fred and Sharon arrive on Wednesday morning and I am still sorting out the bungalow...

Hi Sheila,

Just confirming that it will be Di and I (minus children) for the Friday meal/celebration of life.

I hope everything has continued to come together as planned and very much look forward to seeing you in less than a weeks time.

xx

As per Dave and Murdo, happy to assist in anyway possible with setting up and putting things away.

As things stand, 4 for the meal please (2 adults and 2 children). There might be a change to the children, though adults are confirmed.

Thanks Sheila.

Thanks for letting me know D and D.

Numbers are around 160 for the service and 155 for the hall but I think there will be more as some haven't let me know either way (not A2OC but other groups...).

Fred, Sharon and I have been talking about the village hall part of the Celebration in the afternoon and would appreciate anyone who can helping with the running of the bar and food. We think we'll be rather tied up talking to people I haven't seen for years and they haven't met yet!

If you can assist that would be wonderful.

I will let you know Friday evening about timings on Saturday morning.

Thanks so much once again for your offers of help. The A2OC Family excels again.

Love and hugs XXX

I'm very happy to help with bar and food Sheila. Do you need things like paper plates etc? Xxx

Thanks T.
Great idea but I am trying to use the hall's crockery. However some paper plates in reserve would be a good idea.
We went to the hall last evening and the plan is to be there for 10am Saturday morning to dress the tables and stage.
We have Cancer Research UK banners, balloons and bunting as well as collection boxes.
Fred and Sharon have been a great help with the advance planning and Fred has arranged for the lantern to be lit in the Stump Tower on Friday evening from 6pm. John will be radiating light over Boston just like he did for 40+ years...
Numbers are around 160 for the Celebration at church and the hall. Hopefully everything will come together nicely...
Fred, Sharon and I will be kept very busy talking to friends I haven't seen for a long time and they haven't met yet...
The A2OC Family will be very much appreciated (again!).
Love and hugs Sheila XXX

I have just realised we don't have an ice bucket for tomorrow afternoon...
Would anyone be able to bring one please?
Thanks a lot.
Love and hugs
