have just fitted an after market changer to the concert II headunit in my A2. Excellent bit of kit took about 20 mins to fit a works perfectly, i am just toying with mounting positions for the changer i fancy the left hand side of the boot as the fuel tank filler is on the right, does anyone know if i will damage anything on the right when i put pilot holes in for the changer brackets.

Regards Jon

Hello!

I am interested in this as I fancy getting one for my new A2. Can I ask - what make was the changer? and did your A2 have the cable already installed? If not - what route have you run the cable?

In the past I have always favoured the seat backs as a mounting point for CD changers as you are sure that it won't damage anything. the backs are usually metal sheet and a short self-tapper which ends in the seat foam does no harm.

Thanks

Graham

The changer was a sony one CDX T69 and the adaptor, c goes at the head unit end and uses the standard the standard sony cable quite a nice bit of kit.

the cable path I selected runs down the center console (on the inside) out at the base and under the lifted passegenr foot well carpet to the plastic trim on the side where it is concealed on it`s route to the boot.

Looked at the seat back but as the rear seats have bases that are soft the seat back is a couple of inches in the air so it would give the appearance of floating.
