i bought some led lights to go into the number plate lights, looking rusty, i thought, give them a good dose of wd40 and gently "rock" the screw back and forward - funny both right hand screws sheared off:mad:

i know i could try and drill out the remenants and rescrew it in - but is there a way to remove the light housing, to either

1. replace the lights - anyone know a part number?
2. access it from behind and drill it out on a workbench.

thanks

To get to the light unit (the inner parts) you have to remove the hole bottom of the tailgate

1st remove inner trim (located on spring clips) 2nd disconnect electrics to boot release and lights, 3rd remove 2 small torx's screws (i think T20's may be smaller) then from the outside of the tailgate slide a very thin screwdriver into the groove along the tailgate this is held on by 4 plastic clips

Oh yes if your number plate is screwed in you need to remove that before hand as well

oh god - sounds like a hell of a job - maybe i will try and just drill them out from the outside, and rethread!!
