There is a famous legal saying: "Not only must Justice be done; it must also be seen to be done"

In short it means that justice should be open and public, we should not punish the guilty in secret and in isolation. Transparency is necessary for the club to remain corruption free.

Basically if you are going to ban people I think it should be an open process that is clear to all or at the very least there should be a public statement of the who and the why.

Not a good way to start the new year.

Simon.

Happy New Year Simon,

Please could you elaborate to whom you are referring and why this has annoyed you to the point you'd want to post about it?

It is difficult to operate a "model" that suits everyone.
Some people do not want to read all the waffle and nonesense and just want to read about facts and advice regarding the Audi A2.
Other's want to read gossip.
Other's want a full picture (all sides of a story) if something occurs that's going to affect a members ability to use this forum.

We are volunteers who give considerable time up for no reward to try and keep a friendly and informative car club alive, and it's not easy to please everyone, but we're always wanting to do what the majority would like, so....

please elaborate and I'll try and spend some of my New Years Day giving an underastanding of what has occured.

Cheers
Jeff

I understand and share your concerns Simon. The decision to ban someone is not taken lightly and this process can sometimes take many weeks or even months of team discussion.

Breaking the rules ie bullying, rudeness, trading unscrupulously, spamming and argumentative behaviour are some of the reasons why bans are imposed. The privacy of individuals are also taken into consideration. If you were suffering from some form of medical condition for example it would be unfair to air it on the forum.

Every member is valued and we do try our very best to resolve problems but sometimes satisfactory conclusions are difficult to attain.

This thread has been deleted by the OP but re opened by the Admin Team in the interests of transparency. We would like to add that disputes between members may also have the potential to develop into Police matters and any open discussions on the forum would therefore become sub judiciary.
