Evening all,

@A2Z, @Sootywg, @GTSpec, @gills, @StevieG, @kixey, @Ads, @Clackers, @hydo14, @Erlingtheelder, @Passatmann0, @CrispyEdd, @AndyP, @Weigh6, @oldcroft & @Thedudeabides

Some good news for those of you on the list... Ive had a reply from the Sales Team at Cum-Cartec.

Before I show their response, I'll remind to io the costs prior to engaging in communications with them.

Direct approach on their website:
€45 Komforblinker
€17 Shipping to the UK
€62 Delivered including 19% VAT

From their eBay offering:
€50.41Komfortblinker
€5.04 Shipping to the UK
€55.45 Delivered to the UK, assuming VAT is already applied as per the norm on eBay

There is some €7 difference here from the very same supplier which I'm currently unable to explain to you.

So here is the email I received earlier this afternoon:

92906D50-8B0E-4C3B-B3F6-9AE5E906B61E.jpeg

As you can see the discount is for 15 units and I'll confirm that this is the same price for all 20 on the list so far. If so then here is the math:

€38 Komfortblinker (assuming this includes their VAT, have already asked and await the answer)
€1 Shipping (this is simply the €20 shipping fee for the complete order shared over the 20 units on the list)
€39 Per Komfortblinker delivered to me in Leicestershire
£2.95 (might be a few pennies more to cover insurance up to £40) Needs to be added for a 2-3 day Hermes (under 1kg) service. I'll also check out Royal Mail also as its possibly a little cheaper. More homework required by me.

Although I've not fully worked out the postage costs this side, which I apologise for, but think this is already looking like a good festive saving.

Instead of sending out a series of PMs to confirm those of you on the list are still interested, can I please request that we keep this simple and just 'Like' this thread to show you'd like me to proceed. I'll keep tally here on the spreadsheet. With the run up to Christmas, this is not something that I'ld like to pay for out of my own pocket and will need payment upfront before I submit the order. I'm sure there isn't any issue with this, it's pretty much the way I have conducted these type of ventures in the past with zero complaints.

As the discount figure seems to be 15 and we're already at 20, lets try to see if there are any more members out there who could take us to 30 to see if it becomes any cheaper..

I'll leave this for now so members on the list can respond. If there are members reading this who would like to be added to the list then just add your interest just like the others before you have.

Kind regards,

Tom

That's great news Tom, well done!

One thing to be careful of though is the duty laws as from what @gromand and @Andrew mentioned in a recent thread (link below) it could well work out cheaper to split the items when ordered and have them posted in multiples of 3 and pay a little more postage to avoid duty and additional customs charges?

Just a thought that will need to be looked into a little so we fully understand the ins and outs as it's not something I have personally had need to look into since Brexit and know nothing about?

Hi Neil,

Fully understand your concern here. I too have similar thoughts now I've seen how popular a choice has turned out to be. I honestly didn't expect this volume of demand for the Komfortblinker. I can promise you (and everyone else) that I'll work with Cum-Cartec to see whats possible as having our purchases held up somewhere is the last thing I want. I'll factor as in as many enquiries as I can to avoid your concerns. I do have something else up my sleeve but won't mention it yet until I've trodden every possible avenue first.

Kind regards,

Tom

Morning all,

Just sent a further request to Cum-Cartec asking about splitting the consignment down. I’ll let you know their response.

I’ve also asked if they might be able to provide us with a discount code for their eBay offerings. What I’m hoping to achieve by this is each individual will be able to purchase a Komfortblinker themselves usibg a discount code. You would have to pay the €5.04 delivery cost but this is by far the easiest way (for us the customer at least) and would see your purchase sent directly to yourself, thus cutting me outbid the equation and saving a domestic postage fee. I’ll let you know the answer when it arrives.

Kind regards,

Tom

Morning Tom,

The problem I foresee with this from the sellers perspective is that all of a sudden it isn't a group buy anymore and they are back then to processing and packaging each individual order whilst also incurring ebay selling and payment fees?

We'll have to see what they come back with but I think it might be best to all pay for the Komfortblinker and send it the company in one lump sum to honour the group buy, then with the option to add additional items if required possibly at the same discounted rate % wise if they will do that?

Morning Neil,

Agreed. Just trying all options and sharing my thoughts as collectively we should get there. There has got to be a way of getting the best possible deal whilst avoiding any hiccups in transit.

I’ll see what they come back with.

Evening all,

In light of the sheer demand for the Komformblinker it seems as there is no simply way of getting what we desire to our shores without risk of having import/customs fees applied, this was always going to be the probability as soon as the interest increased. I really underestimated how many of us wanted this great little gadget. Ive had one in my commuter(s) since 2015 and haven't looked back. Such a convenient yet simple little addition to the A2.

After spending some time in correspondence with Marion at Cum-Cartec today, we have come up with a compromise, which I feel is really decent of the company and I thank them for working with me on this.

A quick reminder of the costs from earlier in this thread (apologies for using Euros but it keeps it simple as exchange rates fluctuate)...

Before asking about the possibility of a bulk order discount:
€62.00 Delivered direct from their website
€55.45 Delivered from their eBay offerings

After initial discussion about a bulk order:
€39.00 Delivered to me in Leicestershire if we were able to overcome import/custom fees. There would have been a further €3-5 for me to individually package up the items for onward distribution, so more like €44.00 in total.

What has been agreed upon is that the best way forward for all concerned is to purchase direct from their eBay offering here (must be eBay.de) and apply a discount code which they have set up for us:
Screen Shot 2021-11-16 at 16.41.11.png

You'll see the price is €50.41 and postage is €5.04, at check out you will be able to apply a discount code which will take the item price down to a straight €45.00, you'll still need to pay the €5.04 postage fee though.

This will of course cut the middle man (me) out and have it delivered straight to you door from Germany without any additional fees.

I apologies for getting your hopes up initially but I have tried all I can on this for you. That said this €50 price tag is only a couple of £s more expensive that me getting them delivered here and forwarding them onto you. Its still a nice little saving

The important bit: The discount Code will cease to work on the 7th of December. I urge to to make your purchase on or well before the 6th of December. The Discount Code is:

COMFORTIN

Thank you all for putting your faith in me to see whats possible. This has worked out reasonably ok I think as any saving is a bonus. Remember make your purchase before the code expires on December 7th. Now putting my Bespoke A2 Footrest head back on to continue that venture else where on here.

Kind regards,

Tom

Evening again,

Make sure you use the link and purchase it from eBay.de as the discount code does not work on the eBay.co.uk website. Ive just purchased a Komfortblinker and the €5 were removed at checkout.

Kind regards,

Tom

Hi Tom,

I know you have put a lot of time into this and I for one thank you for that but it does seem a shame that we now appear to have lost the group discount price previously offered as €45 is the price if you bought just one Komfortblinker directly through their website and this price shows to also include their vat @ 19%.

Although I'm not sure exactly how it works when they are exporting but I presume because the items are going out of their country they wouldn't charge their own vat and would then charge our vat @20% or would possibly deduct it from the price and we pay it here?

Complicated I know and as I said I'm not sure exactly how it works and you probably know far better than me having dealt with it.

It appears that they have now just reduced the postage charge to €5.04 which I don't really understand but it may be that if we can get the original group buy offered price of €38 back and have 3 items sent in one package at that price and seemingly then avoiding additional import charges, this could be by far the cheapest way to go?

We could all pay the cost of the item @ €38 and 1/3 of the postage cost per item which could be sent in one go to keep the seller happy and adhere to the group buy discount price previously offered and the 3 items could go to one of the buyers who could then post out to the other two saving you doing it all?

Just an idea and my apologies for the epic post which could probably be substantially edited? ??

Really appreciate your efforts here, I think that this is a good compromise solution and have got mine on order now
Evening Tom,

You’re very welcome and fully agree, any saving is a bonus. It’s amazing what can be achieved with a little dialogue with companies.

Kind regards,

Tom
