Lemon A2 that makes me cry

In what way is it broken the pin that locks into the side broken? The bit the handle moves or the handle mech is broken, or both?! Usually both as handle breaks trying to force it. Post a wanted add I'm sure you will get one in right colour too. There is a thread on the repair off the rod but not the handle, that's not mend able as far as I know.
It's the pin that locks into dlte side

Guys is there any way to out new rubber /seals in the front lights? Don't mind the spot where someone fitted an screw to hold it in place 🙄😭😂

A quick Google search seems to indicate that pipe 045121065h is common to other VAG models and isn't very expensive. What is that "cycle-like" drinks bottle. It doesn't look original. Is it one of many bodges from the previous owner?
Before you spend too much more money you probably want to check how much it's going to be to repair to an 'acceptable standard'.
There comes a point when cars can be money pits. You either shop carefully in scrapyards for cheap spares and use the experience to learn how to fix it, or sell the car and move on. I'm sure most of us have bought a dud, I have. Just be more careful checking your next purchase. Never buy blind. What a seller classes as good condition may not be the same as your view.
Good luck.

Just to update that its not dead its just going slow and i will need a lot of help as issues arise ! The place where the wipper motor secures it as an screw, well someone had an small crash and didnt repair that, good that i bouthg an new dash and will need to take it out and think on something to repair it!

I have an issue on my gearbox, the guy says that the shift at the gear box as a lot of play, and doesnt get up when it needs and thats why 3 and some other gear i cant remenber we need to search for it! The guy its no expert in gearbox, i have ent him an videi from here where it shows were to lock on the box and on the gear side in the interior and adjust with the springs , but he says its not that so now in waiting for an supposed expert in gear boxes !!!

I know that we can go the route of JDD that im not an fan! An MZN 5 speed , and there is an Audi , something on tis thread that i dont know if it will fit due to the sensor that counts revs in mine its on the box and not at the wheel https://www.a2oc.net/community/index.php?threads/new-6-speed-gearbox-method-passat-11-onwards-myp-gearbox.25919/page-10#post-401380 and then there is the 6 gear kit that i dont have any ideia where to get, be aware that im at Portugal so buy things from Uk its kind of more expensive these days!

Re the gear change issue. Isn't this just a matter of sorting the linkage?
I'd be wary of doing expensive fixes.

It sounds like the bearing seal thingy on the shift tower from researching a similar issue on mine, should be a fairly easy fix, I’ve heard that just renewing the bearing makes a night and day difference to the gear change.
One thing to watch out for is that the drain cup is in place, or water from the bonnet vent will drip down and enter the gearbox through this bad bearing/seal, filling it up with water. Unfortunately this happened on mine and if not remedied quickly I don’t think there’s any saving it. It makes an awful noise, and draining the water and giving it new gear oil had no effect.

Even though the engine you started with was covered in grime it's certainly cleaned up really well.
If you buy a new gear selector tower sometimes they are longer than the original one and need a new lower mount as well.

Loving the lemon project!
Have a great day and all the best of luck!

Edit
I've just been having a chat with @Little Dog asking for help with the info on the lower mounting cap for the gear selector tower.
I knew the info was somewhere but I'd forgotten which post.
Thanks @Little Dog for finding this.... https://www.a2oc.net/community/index.php?threads/gear-change-issues-2003-tdi-150k-miles.34450/
Near the end of the first page there is a diagram of the gearbox and that part
:) 👍

We need more information on the bottle! 😂I’m sure a few of us have a morbid fascination with what its purpose was!

I know you mentioned it was maybe the turbo return line, but it looks like it’s looks too high for that.

Good luck with the rebuild! :)

you can bet i dismantle all the engine and rebuild it ... one piston had one ring snaped, watter pump had no impellers , that bootle was an good toutch , and you didnt even saw an picture of the hello kitty car mats it came with :), mnot to mention all the suspension parts were done, the aluminium colision bhind the front bumper was replaced and they just replaced with one that was bent , it fitted i guess lol, thanks for your input :)

Ir was return line of course , there is not mutch higth the higher the bottle less oil, let the turbo work :D, and spill it all over, after few kms , you go to see the bootle and its never full, thats an good logic i guess :D :D
