Light flash constantly until battery dead! Help!!

Can anyone help. About 5 mins after locking the car, the hazard lights start flashing and wont stop. Is this a common error and has anyone an idea of why this might be happening? I have a booked a garage to look at it but until then I'm having to disconnect the battery every trip to avoid a flat battery.

Could be the hazard relay, alarm backup battery (located at rear of car), faulty CCU. Does the alarm go off or is it just the hazard lights flashing?
