Lone phantom beep on 1.4 TDI90

Morning.

Has anyone experienced a phantom lone, or pair of deeper tone beeps whilst driving, that aren't accompanied by a dashboard warning light?

Had it a couple of times last month and once yesterday. It's a deeper beep than those that accompany the usual dashboard notifications.

Couldn't identify any motivation or issue for the beep and it wasn't repeated during a 200 mile journey.

Hi Al,

A single warning beep without any warning lamps lit might indicate you reaching 2hrs continuous driving without taking at least a 15 minute rest break.
The dash usually indicates "2hrs" flashing on the DIS, which is cancelled if you scroll through any of the other functions.

I think it may be the latter that Oko mentions as it occurred about 20 minutes after I'd just stopped the car for a motorway break for 30 mins, so sounds more like it's the traffic news enabled but out of range noise maybe.
