looking to be a new A2 owner

Hi guys

I have always wanted to buy an a2 but unfortunately it wasn't as practical as many other cars.

NOW, the time has come and i'm on a hunt for a clean example low mileage TDI preferably late 05/55 plate 90 but would consider a 75 hp.

please correct me if i'm wrong but the special edition spec is regarded as an entry level model and doesn't come with the usual features such as Fog lights, False floor, DIS and AC.

Not to sure what to look out for when buying an a2

Clearly this is one awesome forum, a true credit to the owners, moderators and its members :)

Best Regards

Cammy :)

Hi Cammy,

You are right about the run out "special edition" models - they really only had the climate control as an addition. There is a useful guide to purchasing an A2 on the forum guide and its worth a read. The SE models had the foglights, false floor and illuminated vanity mirrors so that may be the model you are looking for.

Don,t worry about high mileage if its got a good full service history, low ownership and best of luck with your search.

This one looks nice.....

welcome to A2OC. Lots of good information for you in the above thread. Any questions shout out.

Not many 55 plates out there . I've maybe seen a dozen in the years I've been an enthusiast and only 2 'in the flesh'

Most 05 or 55 plates are special editions. I believe the order books were closed on the other variants in late 2004 so anything registered in 2005 that isn't a 'run out model' has maybe been an unregistered stock item or whatever.

There is a TDI 90 Sport in existence that's registered on a 55 plate . How that happened would be a story I'd be interested in ( yes I'm an A2 sado)

Thanks for your reply

Have had a look at the link but its more comments format than a 'guide for buying an a2'.

Is there a detailed guide that i could have a good read off... please

Thanks

Read it again Cammy.....please. At the end of that thread there's a detailed guide to buying an A2. It's received complements on its helpfulness but I won't take that too far seeing as I wrote it........

If that's no use to you may be you'd better spell out your expectations a little clearer. We are known for our friendly helpful manner on A2OC so we will do our best ( within reason). :D

silly me. Sorry for not going through the posts carefully. Didn't know there was a third page, i feel like a right doughnut :D

Wow, this guide is a lot more detailed than any other guides out there.... Thank You & thumbs up

sorry once again

Thank You
Cammy

No problem. In hindsight i should have said post #24 but I thought it was all worth a read to become acquainted with the car. Good luck with your search for one. Nice examples often get posted on our spotted forum. Any more questions just ask.
