Lots of electrical issues

Looking at the pictures of your CCCU, I would remove it from the car and carefully check all the pins for damage and corrosion. It may have even been wet at some stage, so internal corrosion could be possible. Give it a good clean and scrub up then retry. Failing that your best bet would be to liase with Tom @timmus about him waving his magic wand over a second hand unit and all the other things you need to do when swapping a CCCU over.

Yes it was really grotty in there so I spent all of yesterday stripping and cleaning all the contacts, making sure there was no corrosion and furring when it went back together.
On some of the multiplugs it did necessitate removing the pins from the plugs and cleaning them that way, they were all green and furry so I was worried about high resistance

Thanks for all the suggestions, I will put an ad in marketplace for a cccu.

My car has no remote keys currently so that would be a bonus if I would get a unit that comes with remotes

still on with the electrical issues......

Does anyone know where I can pick up a wiring diagram for the A2? I need the pin out for the wiper relay, im sure the motor is still good, I have added the extra earth and still it doesnt work, my feeling is that the wiper relay is dead, and given that there was a tide mark in the relay area I wouldn't be surprised if water damage was its reason.

OSR electric window is very slow/stiff and triggers the anti jam, the only way to get the window back up is to pull the window as you hold the switch, im yet to strip is all down, is there anything I should be looking for?

ive fitted the CCCU unit and everything sprung back into life, when I lock the door on the remote the driver door and passenger front door don't lock but the rears do, if I lock the door on the key the drivers door locks, the red led lights up on the drivers door card, would this be the door microswitches?

finally where does the handbrake switch connect to? I have the handbrake light on all the time and nothing connected to the handbrake lever

Thanks.

I have just had a strange thing happen. Car has been going beautifully but decided to add some CDs into the 6 stack CD player (in the boot). This morning my a2 is dead! Not a peep from the battery... Could it have been the CD player? It's a 2002 1.6 FSi.

Unlikely, but all things are, (just), possible. The CD unit is powered from the radio, so, maybe the CD unit, somehow managed to draw power from it.
Remove Fuse 38, the radio fuse, (I think).
Charge the battery.
If possible, clear all the fault codes, that a flat battery will trigger.
Leave fuse 38 out for a while, and see if battery holds up.
Good luck, and let us know how you get on.
Mac.

On second thoughts, there's too many other things on fuse 38, so, better to either dissconect the CD changer, or, (probably easier), pull the radio out, and dissconect it.
Mac.
