Low oil indicator is on, but I have oil...

Starting last week the low oil indicator lights up after driving 10-20 kilometers, but when I look at the oil level it is full..

Any suggestions?

I am thinking of doing an oil change to see if it resolves the problem.

You probably have a faulty oil level sensor

Hi MrSmurf,

I have same problem on my 1.2 TDI at circa 120k kms, but dash cluster central DIS indication also has word 'sensor' next to oil can symbol. Sensor will probably need to be changed.

Changed the oil but after driving a random distance it still shows the yellow oil can telling me that the oil level is to low.. it does not say sensor anyware.
