MAF swap?

Is there anything particularly tricky I need to look out for for replacing my MAF - I've got a replacement to install (on advice from Revo/AmD after my re-map) - my previous experience of MAFs on other cars has been completely straightforward, but just wanted to check. I presume it's downstream of the airfilter? No special tools required? Any access issues? Will change the air filter at the same time of course.

Do you mean the air flow meter? Or am i being stupid?

If you do then it is real easy to locate sits in a nice easy spot on the O/S engine bay just next to the cam cover inline to the air box.

If you don't mean the air flow meter. Then sorry not a clue:D

Yes, sorry, MAF = Mass Air Flow meter. Glad to hear it's easy access. I'll crack open the "bonnet" for the first time on Saturday then!

Hi dan b
Removal of the MAF can be a little tricky if you don't have the proper hose clip pliers. Other tips -
Unclip the wiring harness from bracket on brake fluid reservoir before tyring to unplug the connector and remove the securing nut which clamps the pipe in place to allow more movement on the hoses when pulling out the MAF - all rather obvious but sometimes overlooked.
I've attached a pic to go with EMM's description

Cheers Spike - hmm, so it doesn't have the normal screw-up jub clips, that's annoying, I don't have hoseclip pliers.
