Mile high... Sorry, high mile club!

for ease of km/miles conversion 80,000 km's = 50,000 miles, 100,000 km's = 62,500 miles and 160,000km's = 100,000 miles and so on.

Congratulations Adrian. The A2 really is a great little car. Only this Saturday I did 400 miles a day in comfort and averaged 68mpg. It's a tough car to match.

Well ...
humpy is a "young teenager" by all accounts!
51 plate with only 77k, 25k of which is ours, the balance from a single previous owner.
Oh, and the a/c buttons are in excellent condition!

blue skies

Hmmm.....a little while to go before I catch you guys. Jan 2002 car with 48,300 on the clock, I'm the second owner! And apart from the ride and a few minor cosmetics, absolutely nothing needs attention. Pulling like a train and even the OSS works perfectly.

Glad to know it's got a lot more life in it.

Just under 2000 miles to go untill I hit 100,000 miles on my 10 year old A2 .......so in about 6 weeks time or less

Only just hit 65k on an 03 1.6 FSI.... and currently doing around 45mpg, with a lot of driving in and around town...long may it last!

The engine is been a bit noisy, especially when cold, could be pistons but I'm not sure. It has been like that since 100 000 miles / 160 000 km. It doesn't get any worse, though.
Oil changes are being made at least once a year of course, I would guess around 15 000 mi /25 000 km in-between them.
It consumes a bit of oil though, the 1.4 Petrol seems to be like that. About 0,5 liters of oil per 600 mi / 1000 km. Like this there is "always" a bit of fresh oil in the engine. If not mistaken, 0,5 / 55 is almost 1%. So it is almost like driving a two stroke Saab.
If low oil level lights up, I stop as soon as possible to add 0,5 liters that I always carry in the trunk. Usually I try to top up a bit before that happens.
I use fully synthetic 5W - 30 oil from one of the major brands.
Engine is never revved over 2500 or 3000 rpm until warm and rarely over 4000 rpm even when overtaking. Car is light and I know the roads :)
