Well I was pleasantly surprised to see I could still post on this site as I thought it was going to pay only access.

Thought I would let you all know how Mini ownership is going. For those of you who don't know or remember I tried to buy my second A2 about 2 months ago only to be thrwarted by the sheer incompetence of the Audi salesman. I then proceeded straight to a Mini garage and ended up buying one. Well the Mini is a brilliant wee car to own. I gives me the same special feeling that the A2 did and I love it to bits. I was initially a bit unsure about the interior but it has grown on me considerably. Doesn't have the quality materials of the A2 but is a great piece of design and, if you get the right seats (mine half leather sports), looks absolutely brilliant.

My only dissapointment has been in the amount of rattles that have appeared since buying the car. Initially it was fine but 2 months later I have had to book it in for 5 seperate rattles. I HATE RATTLES and they better fix them or I'll be learning how to strip a Mini interior pretty soon.

Well if any of you have any questions about the Mini let me know and I hope you are all continuing to enjoy your A2's. I still think of what might have been if not for a bad A2 then a bad Audi salesman.

Jamie.

Jamie

Glad to hear your Mini ownership is going OK (not brill, but sounds better than the Audi!). I bet you'll be back with SEAT when the new Leon comes out next year!!!.

Steve - 2002 1.4SE petrol, Silver, black/black interior, Then an identical replacement 2003 A2. Now a Toyota Corolla 1.6 T-Spirit

What Mini have you got colour combo i have just done he opposite of your move?

My mini is silver with a black roof.

You've just done the oppositte of me. Did you actually own a Mini or just looking at both the A2 and Mini. If you owned a Mini what made you change.

Jamie.

I had a BRG White S witha ll the toys! For six months there were a few reasons why i changed,

Econmomy- I know it was my own fault but i could have overlooked it drinking problem if it was the only one.

Dealers - Arghhh we are actually a BMW service department sir!1

Build Quality- I thought mine was a friday afteroon special until i started talking to other owners (www.mini2.com)

Increasing numbers- The ltd Numbers appeal has gone.

Residual i got such good pennies for it i would have been stupid to keep it!

That all said i did love it it came alive when lapping the nurburgring & it just monstered roundabouts and B-roads but i just couldn`t live with the poor quality and the bad value for money. Please don`t let me tdetract from your ownership not that i probably will because you are love with the car as everyone is at first. I don`t want to sound bitter and start knocking it but if iwas in the postion to have a weekend car i would give a Digitec S a long hard look.

Hope you have many Mini adventures in yours

New 1.5 D4D from Yaris makes the Mini One D a cheap 'fleet' vehicle..?

Sadly only appeal seems to be for hairdressers and 50+'s (no offense)...

All this whilst A2 TDI sport raises just as much interest..!

foxy

I don't beleive you own a Mini. They have stopped making them. You may have a BMW 1 series which is quite a nice car but very retro and not to my taste but it is certainly NOT a Mini!
I have to say here that as a scot minis are crap and were totally outclassed by the IMP, my 1000 cc job having huge horsepower (well ok 80) at he flywheel and was bloody quick.
MINI is a big car having th same wheelbase as a Mk1 Range rover but is a 2+1 in reality.
Shocking con.
