Moderators

Wasn't sure who the new boss was so I'll post on here-apologies for not sending a more direct email.

I presume the new owners do not require the services of the old moderators? I notice my status has changed to racing driver so presume this is the case, but just wanted to check as no one has officially said anything.

Cheers

Steve

Hi runboy,

I have no problems with you continuing to moderate if you so wish. We need all the help we can get from our members!

Sorry Steve for the demotion! I set up all the new co-owners as moderators and took you off so that they can be easily identified.
Thanks for all the help you've given me in the past...

I don't mind, but if the owners/moderators are going to be active then not sure if a board this size needs so many moderators!

How many mods have you got now?

Stuart
No worries-had some fun doing it!

No need for me to be a mod. I'll just sit in the background...

Don't drink drive! Not only is it socially unaceptable, it also harms A2's.

Not entirely sure of the role of a moderator, but I'm happy to help as and when I can.

WAS : A2 TDI SE 2001 Ebony Black Pearl (The Little Tank!)
NOW : A2 TDi 90 Sport, OpenSky, winter pack, ISOfix, all-round fogs, climate control, all-round electric windows, Blaupunkt Woodstock DAB54, genuine HID xenons and red leather! Not to mention CCC Tech chipping (118bhp), K&N air filter, all round tinting, all-black headlining and retro-fitted cruise control and GALA.(The NEW Tank).

I don't mind helping out with moderating. I still read the forums so if I spot anything dodgy I can assist!

Skipton01-moderating involves reading posts, making sure they are in the right place, pointing people to the search function when they ask simple questions which have been asked time and time again(!), and if someone becomes abusive, tries selling something suspect etc, deleting the post, warning them etc. Just a bit of common sense.

Some forums are very heavily moderated and a topic will become locked if it even deviates 1% from the original topic......maybe a bit heavy handed for my liking, but it depends on the forum owners.

If some simple guidlines on postings are drawn up, posters know what is expected of them, and moderators know what is expected of them. In this time of litigation here ther and everywhere, you need to show you are doing what you can to moderate peoples posts.

I vote Steve for moderator - he has been by far the best moderator the A2 forum as ever had [24]

LOL....
He's done a good job so far, keeping us rowdy bunch in order.

You are too kind!

What you after!

I must admit that 99% of the time, nothing needs moderating. Everyone is just so good!

drn-ultimate decision is with you. I'm happy to continue. If you want me to moderate, let me know.

I vote for Steve too I enjoy this forum and have posted a few topics myself. Long may it continue.
One question I would like answered is what do the stars indicate next to the ID and how do you get more. Its always puzzled me. Is it related to the number of posts submitted??

Yes, stars and 'name' such as racing driver, are based on number of posts. Stuart did post the different stages....maybe drn can do the same so we can all strive for that next level!
