More advice req'd Please x

This is the video, it was in a different thread.

Now when you say MAS needs changing are you talking about the MAF or the MAP?
MAF can be cleaned with some success just use the proper cleaner. Chances are its got oil mist on it.

It is a repair where you clean and tighten up the loom connections onto the injectors. Can work, but if you have gone that far you may aswell just replace the injector loom. Still want to clean the injector connectors though.

I installed a new injector loom 2 years ago, genuine part, it hasnt done enough to warrant a new one, and, it was a b*****d of a job...but, if it may solve the problem ill take it apart again and have a clean up

Before you take it off, check the resistances on the connector plug while still connected to injectors. The resistances should be pretty much all the same.
The loom may be "new" but were the injector terminals cleaned before fitting the new loom?

That i dont know as a fellow A2 owner helped me...

As I said check the resistance values on the external plug. If number one injector wiring is a different reading the it is either the loom connectors the injector connectors or the injector itself.

Taken from Ross-Tech websit, OS requirement

PC requirements

The minimum system requirements for the VCDS (VAG-COM) software are:
  • Desktop, laptop or notebook PC
  • Pentium-3 (or equivalent) processor running at 1 GHz (or higher)
  • 256MB RAM
  • Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8/8.1 or Windows 10 (32 and 64 bit editions)
  • Approx. 100MB of hard disk space
  • USB port
Surely some member of the family has an old no longer, can be steam driven, laptop.

I am not sure why you haven’t contacted Halfords and asked them to collect the car and fix the smoking problem.
You sent it to them not smoking and you get it back smoking. So they should sort it.

if there was7.5 litres of oil in an A2 then that could easily cause serious engine damage. The ringtone spins in the oil and because it is circulating through the engine the sump is not really containing a lot of oil. But when overfilled the engine has to spin through the excess oil and that puts an extra strain on everything especially the pistons and crankshaft.

So point out that it had at least 7.5 litres of oil in a car that should have around 5 maximum and get them to resolve the issue.
It is their problem not yours and the more you try and resolve it the more likely they are to blame YOU.

Get THEM to sort it out!!!!

This is also Another example of the fact that these amazing little cars are not like most other cars and so you really need to try to get someone who understands them to do any servicing or mechanical repairs.
I would go as far to say that even if you took an A2 to an Audi main dealer, the majority of the mechanics there may never have seen one.
Things like the broken tip on a dipstick would be spotted by a specialist independent or fantastic people such as WOM etc.

it really is worth travelling a few extra miles to get your quirky little A2 looked after properly!
