More volunteers required.

Dick Chown Award 2016
Hi,

We need some volunteers !!!

Typical positions include

Member relations, greeting / vetting new member's applications *currently done by whoever gets there first and so it would benefit from a little focus.

Shop Manager, Currently this is just handling one or two orders a week/month, all costs wil be paid (of course) but we need someone who wants to help broaden the items we have on sale (Vonnie is already exploring some clothing options etc. so you can get involved in that too)

If anyone else has some skils to offer that may help the club and the members then please let us know.

You can contact me via PM if you want to ask questions in private

The word "Volunteer" does mean that there is no benefits (as we are all volunteers in the team anyway) but you do get to have a closer involvement in the club.

Hiya.. Have posted this reply on another thread but just in case it's missed.. I'd like to throw my name in the hat for shop manager.. We have a post office just round the corner so posting isn't an issue.. Be happy to help out within the club and give something back to a club that has already given us 3 so much... Now things have calmed down here I've got some spare time so rest assured no order would be missed or not posted.. Zip

Fantastic news. That would be great. With all of the current merchandise you don't even need to go to the Post Office. I buy postage on line (covered by the club of course) and print my own sticky labels. We have small Jiffy bags and they have always been big enough while I have been doing it.

I I would be very pleased if you would be up to doing this. There is a small element of trust involved in that position and do we need someone we know and trust. So do you know anyone like that Zip? (ha ha, only kidding).

I will confirm with you shortly, I can bring the stuff to AITP if you want too!

My pleasure .. Im attending the Sunday as have work commitments on the Saturday.. But can get everything from you there.. Pleasure to help..

What a great community spirit we have on here.

Volunteering brings nothing with with it but extra work. But we still have people more than happy to do their bit for the club.

Nice one.

Hi Steve, could you expand more on the member relations role? As you know I'm logged in multiple times per day for one reason or another so I'm around a lot.

Hi Steve,

It really is whatever the volunteer wants to make of it.
At the moment we get new registrations that need to be checked ( just to try and spot Spammers) it is just s case of looking at the details they have used to register, it is normally pretty obvious). It takes a few seconds.

Then there is the welcome of new members when they make their first post. At the moment whoever gets there first posts a welcome and it would be nice to also post an "official welcome" perhaps a relatively standard, but personal welcome that includes some things that will help them know how to use the forum and I don't just mean rules. For example many people don't know about the "How to" index thread, or how best to search. Etc.
It can be a pre-prepared list of things.

As I said though it could be more if anyone wanted it to be.

A meet and great at their first social (if they / you were attending that is).
Perhaps it could be Sen as a "go to" position if members are unhappy about anything or have any requests.

it is just an idea (it also might help to keep my posting count down (not wishing to flood the forum).

So make of it what you will. A background task or a bit more if you wanted.

Thanks for asking, I look forward to receiving your application (lol)

Count me in Steve. At a conference today (yawn!!) but can respond later.

Ps, keep your posts coming, it's great to have a pillar to the club.

Hi Steve

Great thanks. We can chat about it in more detail.

(It sounds like you need a Pillow rather than a Pillar at the moment.)

Hi Zip, the team are very pleased to offer you the role.

We can sort out the details over the time before and while at AITP.

Welcome, the club and its members will be richer for having you on board!!!

Vonnie has said that she can work with you on the Clothing that she had been investigating too.

Thank you from the team.
