Hi lads, any advice on which parts to go for on these items in the fail list please. I dont want cheap but then again I dont want expensive. its the rubber hoses that have perished, might as well get the discs and pads done in the other list on advisories while im at it.

Cheers.

Mintex good value

As for hoses just be careful they come in 2 lengths and both are listed suitable on various car part stores... However only the correct length ones fit
Might have measure your existing one first before ordering.

I've just done the hoses on mine John, used HEL uprated ones from ebay for £40 delievered. Only about £10 more expensice than standard ones and far better quality. I'll whatsapp you the link.

I bought these hoses from my local Audi parts dept a couple of years back...seem to remember they were not expensive. The originals lasted 120,000 miles so I may not be replacing them again.

ATE ceramic pads are great if you want to avoid brake dust.

I've got yellow stuff pads with drilled/grooved disks and HEL brake lines....the brakes still aren't marvelous.

I think if you've just got calipers in good condition with new brake lines and perhaps some Mintex disks and pads you should be good to go.

Afternoon , I replaced all 4 brake pipe flexible hoses , the front 2 are fairly easy , the rear 2 are epic pigs to swap out , I would advise obtaining a brake pressure bleeding kit , and the bleed nipples to the rear cylinders x 2 , plus the front 2 , and just in chase a couple of rear wheel cylinders
to replace the rear wheel cylinders, bleeding the brakes can be a pain if you get air into the ABS unit .....

this lots going to take a morning of spanner works ,
top tip
Unbolt the cylinders from the solid pipe at the rear via the "front " of the brake drum this stops the risk of ripping the brake pipe while unscrewing it via the rear
its easy stuff
swapping disc and pads over , further 1 hour per side , so its a fun packed full day on the drive !!!!!

A word of warning about the HEL brake hoses from eBay. The ones I bought would not fit the brackets on the car, which meant the brackets had to be drilled out to accommodate. The brackets have round holes but the ends of the hoses were semi-hexagonal.

Yes this is something I've found and have mentioned it with HEL as I do some work with them in the day job.
The brackets on both the front and rear hoses are standard 12mm holes. The HEL lines require a 14mm hole. A quick job with a step drill and everything is fine.

Are standard Brembos with the fitting kits worth a mention? I got ultra cheap ones put on the car when i first bought by the initial garage i took the car to. I'm still finding (and paying for) the quality of the work they did.

Car seems to brake ok but I'm about to change the calipers for refurbed ones and thoughts I'd change the pads at the same time to get max benefit.

Oh and has anyone found a way to get the rear handbrake circlip off? I bought a 15 quid set of circlip pliers from ebay and whilst they are long enough i cant get them to the bottom of the caliper as they are too big to fit into the gap :(
