Depends if you have DIS (driver information system) or not.
If you do, the display (in between the dials) will have 3 seperate bits, the top shows radio station/Cd track number (and any warnings: oil level, washer level, fuel low etc) the middle is outside temp (i think!!), and the bottom bit shows: average mpg, Current mpg, average speed, amount of time you've been driving, & number of miles left in the tank.
If you don't have DIS, then you won't have the bottom bit, and maybe not the middle (showing outside temp), and afaik there will be just 2 sections instead of 3 on the display.
Ff you have DIS, on the right column stalk there is a rocker switch on the end, you cycle through the bottom section with this.

Only the Sport models came with standard DIS. It is a £200 option on SE cars... But then SE gets standard fog lights and the Sport don't have that... I think some secretary at Audi UK decided the spec one lunch break a few years ago...

A2 specs certainly are odd, I can vouch for that - I was surprised finding out the first time that foglights were an option and not standard - the difference in spec between base models and what you could have is immense. When they first came out, I think you could almost have a £25k car if you had all the toys!
Finding used ones with the right combination of options is nigh on impossible - I wanted a TDi SE with dis, a.parking, cruise, open sky, foglights, rear electric windows, bose, sports seats, 16" wheels and winter pack... in crystal blue please.
I doubt whether such a car was even ever made - after searching pretty much the entire used stock of cars in the UK, I was incredibly lucky to have my local dealer get in a pre-registered new one with most of what I wanted, for a good price.

You are lucky indeed. Just finding one with Open Sky is neigh impossible... A friend of mine wanted one and I can attest to that search. Never mind the rest of the spec! But all SE spec cars should have had the fogs! So that would have been easy! hehehe

RichDADA had two all-options-ticked A2's in a row! The previous owner was the same guy if my memory serves and sold both within a year and Rich bought both...

sounds like someone who had a change of heart, sold them on to someone who loves them 
had I been a month earlier, I must admit the temptation to order a fully loaded one would've been strong - I think that there will be a far higher percentage of owners who will hang on to them for a long time.
My very first car I kept 15 years - only moved it on 2 months ago.. wonder if this little A2 can do better

If you swap the TDi for 1.6FSI and the blue for pearlescent black - then I have exactly that spec (oh, plus regular spare wheel, boot floor and no badge). Having owned 2 sports previously, I wanted the excellent seats - but could do without the firm ride and daft oversized wheels.
I'm obviously looking to keep my A2 for the long haul.
