Hi there, I have just bought an 04 1.6 fsi "storm" A2 from an audi dealership, if its not to much trouble could people share their owner/driving experiences with me. I also have an Audi Q7 and bought the A2 as a run around.....hopefully it will serve me well (this is my 8th Audi) . I look forward to chatting,
Alz...:)

Hello and welcome to the forums Alz.

I've driven a few FSi examples, but not lived with one for any length of time, so I'll leave it for others to give you a full insight into what you've bought into.

However, be aware that like a lot of other Audis, the 1.6 FSi does suffer from dodgy coil packs. If they go, don't be fobbed off by a dealer pulling a fast one - they are covered by a separate 5 year warranty.

Cheers,

Mike

Hi Alz,
Mike's right about the coil packs these are covered by an additional warranty, so if the tell tale engine management light comes on and you experience a misfire, do not be fobbed off.

The 1,6 fsi is smooth running and works well with the A2. Gentle driving will see 50mpg, but at motorway speeds this will fall to 35-39mpg. A little hesitancy pulling away from lights and round-a-bouts is annoying but one learns to give a little more throttle.

There are some general things with the A2 which you will find on this website. I have owned my a2 for 4 1/2 years and am very happy with it. It's light, handles very well even though for some the sport ride is too hard for me it's just fine.

We use ours for a run about too, it's easier to park than "satans chariot" - thanks Mike! - our V70 Volvo.

Hope you enjoy the experience, there's really nothing else like it.

I have an 03 FSI SE.
I get about 40 to the gallon from it, or to be more precise, pretty much bang on 10 miles per litre.
I love it to bits, but must admit that in this cold weather I have gone back to using my 2.0CD Volvo V40 as the Audi takes ages for the heater to work and the Volvo has electric butt warmers.
You will enjoy it loads.

thanks

cheers lads, all your comments are greatly appreciated. I am off to london tomoro to pick it up, so should get a decent feel for it back up to glasgow.
I kinda got a mixed feedback when i looked at the right ups, brother in law had a 1.4 petrol and it was excellent, just a few wee minor electrical problems.
If anyone can let me know what to look out for or any good running tips they are welcome, thanks again.:)

ps thanks for the coil info mark, i have a 1 year full audi warranty so fingers crossed if there are any probs it will surface within that period!!

ps any ideas on where and what to style it with.......thinkin of getting it tarted up a touch, although with the Q7's fuel bill that might be a cash flow problem.....
