New A2 Owner

Hi all,

I am going to be picking up my A2 on Friday, i have managed to get hold of a 51 plate 1.4SE with only 27k on the clock.

I am a little confused about the servicing, i read that some times its two years and others its only one year, could somebody please clarify this for me.

Lastly i do like the new metal badges, but is there an agreed place where these can be located?

Many thanks,

Jamie
Soon to be an A2 owner :)

Congrats! There are two types of servicing - fixed and variable. Check with the dealer you got it from which it is on. Or if you got it from a non audi dealer check with the last audi dealer that serviced it !

Hi Jamie, welcome to the A2oc
Check out the attached extract from the latest A5 brochure which gives a good explaination of the two types of servicing.
When you get your car you can do a quick check on miles to next service - first press and hold the mileage trip button below the speedo then switch on ignition but don't start engine. The display between the instruments will show the mileage.

Cheers Spike

Picked up car

I have picked up the car and i am like a "dog with two tails" i will post some piccies over the weekend, although it is just a 1.4SE, but it looks the biz.

Anyway i was wondering if anyone has put an additional 12v point closer to the front of the car, i am looking to transfer over my GPS and Road Angel and the existing outlet is beside the handbrake. I don't really want to have leads trailing over the center consul, so can this been done/has this been done? and if so any tips?

Many thanks,

Jamie (Two tails)

I Have fitted a spare 12v socket under the ashtray i purchased the 12v socket from Vagparts for about £10 .... I Run my Sat Nav of this feed ........You will need a short length of cable with an inline fuse take the power fromn underneath the secret passenger floor and an earth the other thing you will need is a dremmel as you need to modify the back of the plastic tray where you want to fix your New socket ........I Really wish id taken pics , Robin at Stealthracing told me how to do this i wish i had written a fitting guide as a few people have asked me about this ......

Could you not do a fitting guide by any chance??,
I want to do this for my sat nav at some point soon, if only I knew how.
Pretty pleaseeeee:D

12v Supply

I was thinking of coming off the existing 12 supply and then running the cable up to near where the ash tray is, i was going to put an inline fuse in place for both of the outlets.

I.E. if the main fuse feeding the 12v outlet is 20ampsw, i will make each of them 10 amps so that the total possible drawn current would not exceed the main fuse.

If you're going to run wiring up alongside the handbrake mechanism, be very careful to avoid any possibility of trapping the wiring - the car won't thank you if you do!

Cheers.
