New A6 S-Line

Had a look at the New A6 tonight. Basically my dealer has moved and fancied taking a peek at the new showroom.

I really liked it inside - very calming. It was the 3.0tdi model, with bells and whistles, but apparently the standard S-Line has most of them. The nice sales lady offered us an extended test drive which I am very tempted to do as it feels fantastic even stationary in the showroom. Wife wasn't too keen on the looks, but I thought it had a sort of A8 presence about it myself - which to me is a good thing.

Now I just need to find £25k to put up against my A2 to place the order!!!! (It must be good, as I'm sold without even driving it)

P.S. The new Audi Shrewsbury showroom is a bit strange by the way - no sales persons are in the showroom - they all have there own offices, so it felt a bit empty. The new car customer collection area was cool though - a separate glass walled area, with chairs to allow the car and there new owners to get to know each other. Nice touch.
 
There was a great advert on television this evening for the new A6. I think it was the 3.2Quattro.
Nice scene where a section of the car breaks away into chunks which eventually spell out "Vorsprung durch Technik" before returning to the car. Front end is very nice with the chrome trim running down to low level. Any offers for the wife, cos it's the only way I'm going to be able to afford one. (One careful owner but maybe a few too many miles on the clock for most of you young chaps!)

Don't drink drive! Not only is it socially unaceptable, it also harms A2's.
Was a Merlot Red 1.4SE petrol originally.
Now an Ebony Black 1.4SE petrol with Red Leather, CC, Symphony + all the previous options we had.
 
I don't like the new A6's dashboard one bit. Especially the central bit. We last saw a lip surround to a dashboard like that in the 80s!!! Horrible to my eye! Why such an avant garde looking car should have such an 80s dash is beyond me.

I sat in one in Stafford before they moved. What struck me was the lack of places to put things. I must have too much junk in the car.

1.4 Petrol Special Edition, Ebony Black, grey leather, heated seats, climate, opensky, five spoke alloys for SWMBO (Replaced a 2002 1.4 Petrol SE) Honda Accord Tourer 2.2 iCDTi for me.
 
Dash does look odd.Wheel is in the wrong place aswell !

Fairbrother, I had a car like that once, the bits didn't spell anything though, and the bits didn't go back on their own.
 
Rob, you sound quite keen. Do you want to talk money. This A6 might not be out of the question after all! Insurance is not a problem. I think these classic deals are probably best, due to the limited annual mileage.
She would bloody kill me if she saw this. Especially if she knew I was trying to auction her off to the highest bidder. (Still tempting though!)

i know what you mean, but i still like it - when i sat in it, it felt right. like all things in life small bits of design/fashion/music repeats itself every few decades. The image you linked too doesn't do it justice at all. in fact i never like those 360deg things - proportions are always wrong

Did you order the speakers ?
Still think dodgy dash though .
