New and excited Member !

Hello Everybody,

I'm Andrew, in London. After admiring the Audi A2 for such a long time ( and stopping the habit of buying big, gas guzzlers ) I finally bought a 2002 1.4 se petrol A2 last week. It's a lovely car which needs a bit of cosmetic work inside ( lord knows how the previous 5 owners treated it ! ). With 132,000 on the clock, just to be sure, I've had the cambelt changed, new filters, full service, new brake cylinder, new belt tensioner, new water pump, new spark plugs and new tyres.

I'm very much looking forward to my time with A2OC and it's Members for the invaluable support and knowledge held by you all. Thank you.

Welcome aboard, good to have you join this friendly and useful resource.

Plenty of information on here - sometimes best found using google "question plus a2oc". Also a good social scene, curtailed due to COVID but it will return in due course.

Welcome. We have 2 1.4 petrols and we are not far from you. What is the spec, any pictures?

Hi Kleynie, the spec is rather basic, not like yours ( ha ha ) even the cup holders don't work and have to be replaced. As I said, the previous owners have managed to break many things inside the car. I'll send pics when car comes from mechanic on Sunday. I'm in Barnes ?

Well Barnes is not too far from us at all. You'll be able to get the cup holders, and anything else for that matter, from @A2Steve. I can also recommend an A2 specialist mechanic in Hounslow.

Thank you very much ??

My pleasure. I joined about four weeks ago with the intention of selling the car as my wife and I will be moving to the continent in the near future. Thanks to this wonderful community, this has now changed to me and my wife loving this car even more than before and looking to import it the continent :)

This little car seems to have a knack of pulling on one's heart strings, I'm feeling more excited and protective over my little A2 than I ever did with my previous XJ6, and I've owned mine for only a week !

Hi, my brakes have failed. Could you recommend the A2 specialist in Hounslow please ? What should new pads cost ?

Hi all, my brake fail light just came on ( red exclamation mark in circle ) ? What should it cost for new pads please ?
A red explanation is unlikely to be caused by brake pads or indeed discs. This will be an ABS sensor, low brake fluid in the reservior, brake light switch or even just a brake bulb. Best to have a scan done so that you know what it is before buying parts.

Welcome to the club and photos of your car are almost compulsory here. ? If you feel protective now imagine what you will be like in a few months time when you have tidied him/her up even more. Happy A2 ownership to you.

See who's close, for a scan:

Welcome, but be aware, these cars are addictive, and are always pleading for a buddy! Many on here have more than one. I have 2, and another arriving next month!

Welcome aboard,
They do have a way of getting under your skin. The guy in West Hounslow is Gary at B&F Autos. Top man on A2. He'll put things right for you, and a great source of sound advice. No piped music or plate glass, proper old school workshop and the bill is not silly!
