New Audi Q2

IS this the love child of the Audi A1 and the BMW 1 series ;) :p Hmmmmm!
I hope not, i am no fan of the BMW 1 series or the A1 to be honest (after owning one for two years) Robin's S1 being very much the exception, i love his S1.

Seen something like this before; a blast from the past... ;) That isn't to say that I am not a fan.

Very similar Darren! Silver vinyl wrap on those rear quarter windows and you would seriously mistake it for a Q2

taller, broader, bigger than an A1. Similar size to an A3 but on stilts and a tick smaller than the Q3. I quite like it. Similar sized interior to the A2, though a little less roomy, at least looking at the initial photos.

Same engines and gearboxes, new shell. Boring...

I think there are too many similar models now. Im still waiting for them to build something different...

Make a electric A2 not based on another Audi platform with lots of tech and i will leave my deposit.

I really like it! Great to finally see a '2' model in the line up again :) Surely an A2 will appear at some point?

Agree! Would love to see audi reclaim vorsprung durch technik and do a new A2 that would take a fight with BMW i3, which I thought was a really cool car when I test drove it.

But I think it would take a lot to win the hearts of A2OC. Something with a lot of character. We are picky :)

Agree withgustav.
And manhattan
When was the last time they did vorrung Dutch technic?

S1 is only interesting car But just a hot hatch
New a4 looks like an old BMW inside and just has a big boot
So boring! style over substance in q2
We want a technology leader like i3
Which I think is just coming affordable for me he he
Q cars are so crap they're embarrassing. IMO
A 5 needs retiring. And it's 37k for an etron ! come off it that's a lot of miles before I see a benefit
Get real Audi
I've stopped going down they used to be interesting like Leeds united but now it's just sad as BMW stay in front

They all deserve a good kicking for fixing the emissions and being dishonest as well
Off to top myself now...

I have never been a bmw fan, but we test drove the i3 and it was brilliant and ended up buying one.

I have always been a big Audi guy, but i am not impressed with their new designs tbh. :(

I utterly loved the i3 when I drove it too. That for me felt like a true A2 successor. I couldn't make the logistics of a battery electric work for me just now ( no driveway for home charge, workplace refused to install one at the office) but otherwise I would have bought one in a heartbeat. The eTron / eGolf is a very flawed, and expensive attempt at electric powered vehicles and the VAG organisation has been caught with its pants down, the Dieselgate fix was the last straw for me it has to be said.

In the US the regulators are debating whether instead of imposing punitive fines for what is deliberate and obvious fraud on emissions to instead force VAG to develop and sell a proper volume electric car. Quite s good idea I think.

I have always had a love for the Audis since dad brought home his Audi 100 -90 when I was a kid. But the newer ones are a little meh.
What strikes me is that we here one A2OC seems to have a liking of cars with a special character. Like the A2. Perhaps that's also why the i3 is quite popular amongst us. To me that's a car that has a lot of character and is also feels very modern, or even futuristic. Personally I love it.

But still, nothing is as cool as an A2....... Or a Tesla.

And are the authorities in the USA going to force people to buy a VW EV?! An EV or hybrid simply doesn't work for me and won't until they can tow a 1.6tonne caravan all the way to Austria with only spending 15 minutes refuelling time..... As for the Q2 why not if it sells and makes Audi money? Just because members on here may not want to buy doesn't mean it is the wrong car. At the end of the day the A2 was a commercial failure and Audi are not in business to subsidise cars that only appeal to a minority of enthusiasts, however much I too would like to see a 'new' A2 it ain't going to happen anytime soon.
