New Clutch/Flywheel

Well, SKF Audi have replaced Tanks clutch and flywheel assembly today, and I must say, it's like having a new car to drive now!

Gone is the knee-poppingly heavy action of the old clutch - I now have a light, responsive thing under my left foot.

The only slight downer was that they informed me of a broken dipstick, which I will apparently have to pay for - even though it's under warranty!

Still, a fiver isn't bad for the money I've saved in having the clutch/flywheel replaced - probably about £800 all in!

Cheers,

Mike

Hi. Jossi here.
My A2 has always had a clutch that grabs very sudden ,feels almost worn but is not. They say it´s hydraulic and therefore unadjustible??
Did you experiense something similar before the change??
I´ve not driven othe A2s but they say that is typical A2-clutch.....
I still wonder.

Hi Mike

Well you know what the dealers are like may as well get you to pay for somethink although as you say it should still be under warranty.

Well at least its sorted now, and without paying (what is a fiver on an amount of £800 what it could have costed)

PS

Didn't you thinkg about an upgraded clutch now that you have all that power under the hood?????? ;) ;)

I did think about the G60 clutch and a suitable flywheel but obviously Audi will only replace like for like and as the transmission is rated over and above the current output, things should be good for another few years.

So how many BHP does your new clutch have to cope with? ;)
Ahh, that'd be telling!

Nice try though. I can tell you that it's dealing with a peak torque of 255.39 foot pounds, or 346 Nm, which is a fair old amount.

Cheers,

Mike
