HI All

Just trying to diagnose the lack of power which feels like fuel starvation, and considering the mileage on our A2 feel the injectors might be fault and causing low fuel pressure.

1. What woudl be the costs to have them replaced in a stealership?
2. Can they be DIY Fitted - i have heard they can - unlike more modern PD engines
3. Can someone recommend a independent diesel specialist to undertake the work if it is needed.

thanks

John

Hi John I priced injectors about 8 months ago £185 from paterson diesels in inverkiething supply only.Probably do mail order.
I was told they can be DIY fitted but a pig of a job.Trying to recall from memory I am sure about £400 from dealer an thats each:mad:can't remember if thats fitted as well though,at that price you would think so.

Heres a link detailing cleaning if you fancy it

Hi John you say you have high mileage. My last A2 Tdi had 194,000 on the clock with 70,000 belonging to me and it went away still with stacks of power and no injector trouble:)Have you tried an injector treatment via the fuel tank, forte do quite a range purely for diesels.Have you tried the obvious, filters both fuel and air and try getting the turbo boost pressure checked. If theres a prob with the turbo it might show with a diag scan.Maybe some of the vag com guru's can enlighten.Cheers Davy

thanks, im taking it in to my local audi stealership, to do a diag scan, i have my fingers crossed its not going to be too costly to fix!

its getting to the point, with that mileage that it is not worth repairing i guess?

can you recommend any form of injector cleaner, i know there a loads on the market, but i want one that people know works

just took it in, apparently the vag scan showed suggested the turbo was over boosting, it was a G31 what ever that is sensor, that needs replacing, so total bill will be around £350 all in.

so could have been worse. mind you they have leant me a lovely Sline A4 with all the toys for the weekend so that goes someway towards the steep bill.
