New Injectors- Do they need coding?

Well the "Have a go mechanic " tries again.

Still determined to get this little car running better as I can still feel a misfire 1.4 BBY. I have decided to get some new Genuine injectors and today give it another Full service using Genuine parts. But my question is before I take the old injectors out do the NEW ones need coding when I put them in or not?.

Any advice on changing them or are they straight forward.
Thanks Graham

I don’t believe so but I could be wrong

They just clip into the fuel rail, then re-install the fuel rail, put all the airbox parts back on and re-attach the injector loom connectors. No coding needed (the BBY is no more sophisticated than the AUA on this front despite the individual coil packs). Removing the air pipework to the throttle body behind and getting the injector loom carrier off the fuel rail (as well as undoing the fuel pipes with minimal spillage) are trickier than actually swapping the injectors just because they are fiddly operations done in confined spaces - but having done so it makes the injector swap process much easier.
