Hello everyone,

Hope this is the right place to post this intro. If not, please move at will.

My wife and I have just bought an A2 1.4SE petrol with 50k miles in silver. We are not strangers to Audi, we still own too many. I spend most of my Internet time on www.quattroforum.com

We are in New Zealand, where there are an estimated seven A2s in total. We have had the car for one day and it certainly gets a lot of looks - mostly smiles.

I am hoping to learn as much as possible about the A2 from other members here, and from what I have read so far, it will be very helpful.

Just wondering how much the price differs for an A2 over in NZ. Also do you have a specialist garage you use for the A2. Is the knowledge and parts for the A2 are a bit short. By the way hello.. I want to move to NZ but I want an A2 to purchase there too.

Because the A2 is almost non-existent over here, there is no known price aside from what the buyer is willing to pay. We paid about 6k pounds. I usually do my own servicing, however, my newer cars are serviced by the main Audi dealer in our area.

If you move to NZ, bring your A2 with you.

It is not worth it, I think when I looked it is arund £2.5k for shipment there and I will be coming back after a year so that is another £2.5k :(

Keep me updated when you take it to audi and other centres

Were A2's an official import to NZ? Would be interesting to know where they were exported to! Oh, and welcome to the club from another new-ish memeber! if I went to NZ I might never come back to UK........any jobs for Architects going out there, lol!?

Hello Basil and welcome!

It's nice to learn that we have owners in New Zealand, even if it's only 7 or so. That's still more than in the whole of the USA it seems!!

You say that you;ve only had the car a day, so if it was not an official import, what's the history behind your car getting to where it is now? I'm sure that there's a lot of folks here that would like to see the rest of your car collection and also to know more about your little A2. Post away!

Cheers,

Mike

Thanks for the welcome guys.

Our A2 is in mph, so I assume it was a UK import. The previous owners were a farming family who traded it in for a Mercedes ML320 - go figure!

I am not quite sure if there were official A2 imports into NZ, it is unlikely given how few there are over here.
