I read many threads on this forum about tyres, but still not sure what is the best tyre size for TT alloys 7j 16 31ET.
I dont want 185 or 205, more looking for 195. But which one? 195X45? 195X50? Can anyone advice me?
Thank you in advance.

I have 205/55 16 on my TT alloys and they are too big. Rubbing on full lock and a bit of rear scrub on bumps.

I’d be inclined to go for 205/50 as a replacement personally but I was considering a 195 myself. I do like the alloy protection of the extra width though.

A 195/50 or a 195/55 should do the job I reckon.

Thanks Pinky.
If so, i'am choosing 195/50. They give 5,2mm ride height gain compared to the Audi recommended sizes. I would not like to go any higher than this. For example 195/55 are 14,5mm higher than original.

Yup. Did you check how much bigger the 205/55 were than standard?

It is like riding on clouds though...

Acctualy, when I bought the TT whells the 205/55 came on. I put them on my car, and like the gained height (i could sit down much easier) but didn't like the look. The side walls were to high. I didn't even take a ride with this set. Just to see how it looks.

I like the extra wheel wall. Nice glistening Black. Mmmm.

I had to remove everything in the boot and back seat before I could roll the car without ‘scraaaaaaapppppppeeeee’. Better now but it’s just a bit tooooo close. Maybe more inset wheels could handle it but the TTs are right to the outer edge.

Let me know how you get on. 205/55 are super cheap, other sizes were much more expensive so it’d be good to know what you go for and how they fit the TTs.
