Newbie...Going to see an A2 tommorrow

Hi all, I'm new to the forums, I'm going to look at a an A2 1.6 FSI Sport tommorow, with Open-Sky, 6 CD in dash-changer, 21k on the clock, 52 (feb '03) reg, in black. Can't wait!!

Is there any specific areas i should look at, apart from the usual stuff, what do I need to check on the Open-sky?

Hi Paul,

Welcome to the forum. Re: Open Sky, basically not much goes wrong with them to be honest - the only thing I would check is that it opens smoothly and is well greased.

To be honest most common problems on the A2 are quite minor;

- Water in Head lights
- Moo'ing noise (vibration noise which comes from the fuel fire heater on the Diesel engines)
- Windows not closing properly (just before they get fully closed,they reopen)
- erm? I'm sure others may think of more.

things that have gone wrong with my A2 : steering sensor, oil level sensor, electric window motor. think thats about it for me. just get a good warranty (or are you buying it as a private sale) open sky is great sticks a bit needs oiling again then its ok

Cheers guys, just got back from veiwing the car, I will be picking it up later this week/weekend!! can't wait!! Its a private sale, but the car has Audi warranty until Feb '06, so no problems there!
