Newbie questions

Hi guys, recently joined, not got my a2 yet!
Great forum and group, everyone’s been really cool and super helpful, thanks!
Because I’m looking to buy my 1st a2, I wanted to pick you guys brains.
So I have a few questions, sorry if they are answered elsewhere!
1. Can you fit a double din into a single din?
Is it just a case of removing cubby, dropping a/c down and fitting d/d bracket to accommodate new unit or do you need new dash or centre console?
2. Can you fit 2 seat bench in rear of 3 seat car or vice versa?
3. Do some cars come with hard touch controls instead of soft touch, or are they out of a different model? Is it easy to change a/c panel?
4. If you fit bigger wheels 17” to an se do you need to change suspension to accommodate them?
Thanks guys, just trying to find the right car and making sure if I buy it I can make the changes I want too!

1. The short answer is no. You'd need to replace the dash, which is not for the faint-hearted.

2. No. Not possible under any circumstances.

3. Early A2s came with hard touch controls. It's quite practical to swap a/c panels over without professional assistance.

4. Differences between the standard and sports suspensions are minimal and require no changes whatever for swapping wheels.

Thanks very much for this, sorry if these have been asked before! Just trying to make sure I buy the right car when the time comes!

No need to apologise. I'm fairly new (and yet to buy an A2 also) - The questions are perfectly logical; I didn't know that early cars came with hard touch controls for instance, I too thought they must be from a different model.

What were Audi thinking with the soft touch thing anyway?! They must have realised fairly early on that they wear dramatically.

I know, I’ve seen the wear before, my partner owned a polo and it was the same, I changed the switches in that car. With my ocd, I will have to have the hard touch controls!
