noisy heater

there is a strange noise coming from the inside of my heater..........it sounds like the flaps inside the heater controls ( climate control fitted ) are creaking when set on auto.........been told it may be one of the air flaps sticking....how do you get to it to sort it out ?????

dont want audi dealer bill of £300 for a bit of wd40 on a linkage !!!

Unfortunately, the positioning flaps are buried deep behind the dashboard and whilst you may be able to gain access by removing the glovebox assembly, it's not a job I've tackled, so I can't say for certain.

What I can say for certain is that if it is a dashboard out job, it's a biggie!
